Subscribing to a desire to create open dialogue between architecture and nature, the vision for the exterior design of the Ericsson corporate campus in Saint-Laurent had to reconcile vast natural spaces and organizational needs that stemmed from the space’s professional functions. To preserve the exterior landscape, 1,100 underground parking spaces were divided within a four-storey structure harmonized with the entire complex, whereas the paved surface parking spaces integrate with the vegetation.
The jury especially appreciated the preservation of 40% of natural spaces, in addition to the addition of a natural lake, a race track bordered by mature trees and an outdoor play area for the daycare. We observe great sensitivity to ecological monitoring. Imagine this well-established mastery of nature five years from now, as it will evolve over time, creating a natural landscape that is accessible to users all year round. The beautiful balance between architecture, function and form was noticed, particularly with regard how they recall the building’s colours.
