To finalize your registration to the Grands Prix du Design Award, you must follow these steps:



IMPORTANT

We should have receive your online inscription before October 12, 2018 at 11:59 and your digital file before October 19, 2018 at 11:59.

  • Eligibility
    The GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN are awarded to designers, industrial designers, architects and landscape architects throughout Québec, practicing in all fields of interior design, for projects realized here or abroad.

    Projects must be completed between September 30, 2016 and the date of the application for the category 11 which must have been completed between september 30th , 2013 and the date of the application.

  • Jury and Awards
    The jury gathers experts of interior design, architecture, landscape architecture, industrial design or communications (advertising or graphic design).

    The jury grants awards to competitors registered in each category, and reserves the right to grant more than one award per category or none. It may also create new awards. Jury deliberations are confidential, and decisions are final.

  • Submitting your Application
    Only applications that fulfill all presentation regulations will be accepted.

        • Online registration;
        • Reception of the digital file (MAC Compatible).

  • Mandatory Digital Visual Documentation
    For each project, photographs must be submitted in high (300 dpi) and low (72 dpi) resolutions, for a minimum picture height and width of 12 inches.

    All submitted digital pictures should have the following requirements:

        • Coloured pictures;
        • 12” of minimum width and height;
        • Always submit in high (300 dpi) and low (72 dpi) resolutions;
        • Official nomenclature: each photograph must be identified with the name of the project, designer, photographer as well as with the number of the category and photo mumber according to the following format:

    Name of the project_Number of the categories_Name(s) of the designers or the agency_©photograph_01.jpg

        • Professional photographs and license free.
        • The images must be numbered in order of preference. Please be sure that the image named “01” is the most representative of your project. This image will be use to present your project during the show. For the architecture / interiors design project this picture must be an interiors view.

    Images of the winning candidates might be used in various communication platforms, including the special issue of INTÉRIEURS magazine about the competition, the trophy, the web site or else.

    Photo credits must be given and clearly identified on the file and on the application forms.

    In case of the photographer retains the copyright for submitted images, a signed authorization from him or her must be included in the application giving competition organizers permission to reproduce, publish, represent and/or otherwise disseminate said images in any medium and venue, to promote the competition and its winners, or for any other purpose recognized under Québec copyright law.

    The authorization granted to competition organizers by the photographer must be non exclusive, free of charge, with no territorial limits and for an unlimited period of time.

    Competition organizers cannot be held responsible for or liable in any possible litigation with the photographer regarding the publication or dissemination of his or her photographs.

  • Other Credits
    • Be sure to fill out all the credits required on the application form for each project;
    • Competition organizers are not responsible for omitting individuals or organizations in the credit of a winning project;
    • Competition organizers are not responsible for omitting individuals or organizations in the credit of a winning project;
    • Competition organizers are also not responsible for any litigation between professionals involved in a project, or between them and their client(s).


Online Registration

The online registration must be completed. It is important to indicate the maximum of information. This information could be published, among other things in the special issue of INTÉRIEURS about the winners.

Presentation Documents to Send

NOTE : All deposit documents may be used in the contest communications and during jury deliberation.

One DROPBOX link by submited categories will be sent once you have paid the fees related to your participation within 48 business hours.

Inside the interface of DROPBOX, you will find different folders in which you must drop the appropriate documents.

Folder General Information, this file must contain:

      • 1 digital photographs in high resolution (300 dpi) of the designer(s) and the team (free, official or casual representation);
      • Curriculum Vitae of the agency and/or the designer(s) or architect(s) involved in the projects (Word of PDF).

Folder “name of the project” identified as followed: number of the category_name of project_designer name(s), this file must contain:

  • For the categories 1 to 11
    Subfolder 001-TEXT-FLOOR-PLAN low resolution (72 dpi), this file must contain:

    Please do not create additional folders in the current subfolders.

    – You will find an editable PDF identified as followed: formulaire de dépôt de texte, in which you must insert your text in French. You must respect the limit of word count.

    – A 1000 character spaces included text in French describing the nature of the project, its mandate, concept, impact, etc.,

    – A floor plan

    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in low resolution (72 dpi) including an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height)

    – If it relevent to your project you can download 1 or 2 pictures of your project before the renovation. Thank you to clearly identify on the images that they have been shots before the renovation.

    Subfolder “Pictures in high resolution” (300 dpi), this file must contain:

    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in high resolution (300 dpi) an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height) (same pictures as those in 72 dpi)

  • For the category 12 (12.1 and 12.2) – Valorization of wood

    Subfolder “001_TEXT_PLAN_PHOTOS low resolution(72dpi)”, this file must contain:

    – You will find an editable PDF identified as followed: formulaire de dépôt de texte, in which you must insert your text in French. You must respect the limit of word count.

    – A 1000 character spaces included text in French. Describe the type of wood used and its origin, the reasons why the material wood was chosen in favour of another material, Is that the type of wood comes from Canada also, the nature of the project, its mandate, concept, impact, etc.,

    Subfolder “Pictures in low resolution” (72 dpi), this file must contain:

    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in low resolution(72 dpi) including an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height)

    For the category 12.1

    – An floor plan

    – If it relevent to your project you can download 1 or 2 pictures of your project before the renovation. Thank you to clearly identify on the images that they have been shots before the renovation.

    – For the category 12.2

    – A floor plan of a technical drawing

    Subfolder “Pictures in high resolution”(300 dpi), this file must contain:

    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in high (300 dpi) an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height) (same pictures as those in 72 dpi)

  • For the special awards - 13.1 to 13.6
    Subfolder “001_TEXT_PLAN_PHOTOS low resolution(72dpi)”, this file must contain:

    Please do not create additional folders in the current subfolders.

    You will find an editable PDF identified as followed: formulaire de dépôt de texte, in which you must insert your text in French. You must respect the limit of word count.

    – A 1000 character spaces included text in French
    – For the category 13.1 to 13.4, describe why the project distinguishes itself in the chosen category.

    – For the category 13.5‘’ Low budget’’ give the total cost of the project and what is the big idea behind the low budget.

    – For the category 13.6 ‘’ Multidisciplinary’’ explain how each combination of disciplines contribute to a common project, without however, that each discipline have to has changed significantly its own vision and its own working methods.

    – 4 to 5 digital photos in low (72 dpi) of the completed project but, it must show the items in the applicable category (12” of minimum width and height);

    Subfolder “Pictures in high resolution”(300 dpi), this file must contain:

    – 4 to 5 digital photos in high (300 dpi) of the completed project but, it must show the items in the applicable category (12” of minimum width and height); (same pictures as those in 72 dpi)

  • For the category 14 and 15 – Product design in small series and Industrial design
    Subfolder “001_TEXT_PLAN_PHOTOS low resolution(72dpi)”, this file must contain:

    – You will find an editable PDF identified as followed: formulaire de dépôt de texte, in which you must insert your text in French. You must respect the limit of word count.

    – A 1000 character spaces included text in French describe the materials used to manufacture the product, the nature of the project, its mandate, concept, impact, etc.,

    – A floor plan of a technical drawing

    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in low (72 dpi) resolutions including an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height)

    – if it relevent for your project you can dowload a vidéo of your product.

    Subfolder “Pictures in high resolution”(300 dpi), this file must contain:

    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in high (300 dpi) an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height), (same pictures as those in 72 dpi)

    Prototype are not eligible for the contest. Your project must have been made and photographed.

  • The following categories are exclusively reserved to the jury
    The jury, gathering of experts in interior design, architecture, industrial design or communications (advertising or graphic design) will choose winners for the following prizes:

    STUDENT AWARD
    PROJECT OF THE YEAR
    TRIBUTE AWARD



Property Rights

All documents submitted are the property of the award organizers and will not be returned. Competition organizers assume no responsibility towards participants for the loss, disappearance or destruction of documents in the application, or for documents submitted late.

The registration form must be completed online before October 12, 2018 and it will be closed after this date. The digital files should be deposited before October 19, 2018.

Processing Fees

$160 CAD for the first application (taxes not included)
$130 CAD for any additional submission (taxes not included)

You can choose one of the special awards category 13.1 to 13.6 for $45 if you have already submitted in at least one of these categories 1.1 to 12.1.

Payments must be received no later than October 12, 2018 at 11:59 PM. Applications are not official until full payment is received and a link to DROPBOX will be emailed to drop your digital files. Within 48 bussiness hours after you have submit your project.
