To finalize your registration to the Grands Prix du Design Award, you must follow these steps:

    • Register online at www.prixdudesign.com;
    • Submit your documents via the DROPBOX link you will receive in your email box.


IMPORTANT

You must send your online registration before October 19th, 2017 at 11:59PM and upload your digital files before October 26th, 2017 at 11:59PM.

  • Eligibility
    The GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN are awarded to designers, industrial designers, architects and landscape architects throughout Québec, practicing in all fields of interior design, for projects realized here or abroad.

    All submitted projects must be completed between September 30, 2015 and the date of the application.

  • Jury and Awards
    The jury gathers experts of interior design, architecture, industrial design or communications (advertising or graphic design).

    The jury grants awards to competitors registered in each category, and reserves the right to grant more than one award per category or none. It may also create new awards. Jury deliberations are confidential, and decisions are final.

  • Submitting your Application
    Only applications that fulfill all presentation regulations will be accepted.

        • Online registration;
        • Reception of the digital file (MAC Compatible).

  • Mandatory Digital Visual Documentation
    For each project, photographs must be submitted in high (300 dpi) and low (72 dpi) resolutions, for a minimum picture height and width of 12 inches.

    Technical specifications concerning all submitted digital pictures :

        • Coloured pictures;
        • 12” of minimum width and height;
        • Always submit in high (300 dpi) and low (72 dpi) resolutions;
        • Official nomenclature: each photograph must be identified with the name of the project, designer, photographer as well as with the number of the category and photo mumber according to the following format:

    Project Name_Category Number_Name(s) of the designer(s) or the agency_Name of the Photographer_01.jpg

        • Royalty free professional photographs.

    Pictures of the winning candidates might be used on various communication platforms, including but not limited to : the trophy, the website and the special issue of INTÉRIEURS magazine covering the competition.

    Photo credits must be given and clearly identified on the file and on the application forms.

    If the photographer holds the copyright for submitted images, a signed authorization from him or her must be included in the application to give competition organizers permission to reproduce, publish, represent and/or otherwise disseminate said images in any medium and venue, to promote the competition and its winners, or for any other purpose recognized under Québec copyright laws.
    The authorization granted to competition organizers by the photographer must be non exclusive, free of charge, with no territorial limits and for an unlimited period of time.

    Competition organizers cannot be held responsible for or liable in any possible litigation with the photographer regarding the publication or dissemination of his or her photographs.

  • Other Credits
    • Be sure to fill out all the credits required on the application form for each project;
    • Competition organizers are not responsible for omitting individuals or organizations in the credit of a winning project;
    • Competition organizers are also not responsible for any litigation between professionals involved in a project, or between them and their client(s).

Online Registration

The online registration must be completed. It is important to give as much information as possible. This information could be published, among other things in the special issue of INTÉRIEURS about the winners.

Presentation Documents to Send

NOTE : All deposit documents may be used in the contest communications and during jury deliberation.

Once you have paid your entry fees, you will receive a Dropbox link to upload your material.

To finalize your applications, you must drop the documents in the appropriate folders in Dropbox.

Folder General Information, this file must contain:

      • 1 digital photographs in high (300 dpi) of the designer(s) and the team (free, official or casual representation);
      • Curriculum Vitae of the agency and/or the designer(s) or architect(s) involved in the projects (Word or PDF).

Folder name of the project, this file must contain:

  • For the categories 1 to 11 (excluding category 12)
    Subfolder 001-TEXT-FLOOR-PLAN low resolution (72 dpi), this file must contain:
    – A 150-word text in French describing the nature of the project, its mandate, concept, impact, etc. You will find an editable PDF where you must insert your text in French and you must respect the limits of the characters imposed.
    – A Floor plan

    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in low (72 dpi) resolutions including an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height)

    Subfolder Pictures in high (300 dpi) resolutions, this file must contain:
    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in high (300 dpi) an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height)

    Subfolder Pictures before the final work, this file must contain:
    – 1 or 2 digital pictures of the project before the end of the work of the renovations, restoration’s or reconversion (If available).

  • For the category 12 (12.1 and 12.2) – Valorization of wood
    For this category, Cecobois supports winners by offering them visibility in its own reserved space at the Culture Avenue of SIDIM – 2016 Design Show.
    Winners must attend the event.

    Subfolder 001-TEXT-FLOOR-PLAN low resolution (72 dpi), this file must contain:
    – A 150-word text in French describing the type of wood used and its origin, the reasons why the material wood was chosen in favour of another material. Does the type of wood come from Canada, the nature of the project, its mandate, concept, impact, etc. You will find an editable PDF where you must insert your text in French and you must respect the limits of the characters imposed.
    – A Floor plan

    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in low (72 dpi) resolutions including an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height)

    Subfolder Pictures in high (300 dpi) resolutions, this file must contain:
    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in high (300 dpi) an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height)

    Subfolder Pictures before the final work, this file must contain:
    – 1 or 2 digital pictures of the project before the end of the work of the renovations, restoration’s or reconversion (If available).

  • For the category 14 and 15 – Product design in small series and Industrial design
    Subfolder 001-TEXT-FLOOR-PLAN low resolution (72 dpi), this file must contain:
    – A 150-word text in French describing the materials used to manufacture the product,the nature of the project,its mandate, concept, impact, etc., You will find an editable PDF where you must insert your text in French and you must respect the limits of the characters imposed.

    – Technical drawing or plan

    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in low (72 dpi) resolutions including an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height)

    Subfolder Pictures in high (300 dpi) resolutions, this file must contain:
    – 8 to 10 digital photos per project in high (300 dpi) an overview of the interior (12” of minimum width and height)

    Subfolder Synthesis pictures, this file must contain:
    – 1 to 2 synthesis pictures before the materialization (if available).

  • For the special awards - 13.1 to 13.6
    Subfolder Text, this file must contain:
    – A 150-word text in French associated with the category. You will find an editable PDF where you must insert your text in French and you must respect the limits of the characters imposed. For the category 12.1 to 12.4, describe why the project distinguishes itself in the chosen category. For the category 12.5 ‘’ Great idea – low budget’’ give the total cost of the project and what is the big idea behind the low budget. For the category 12.6 ‘’ Multidisciplinary’’ explain how each combination of disciplines contribute to a common project, without however, that each discipline have to has changed significantly its own vision and its own working methods.

    – 4 to 5 digital photos in high (300 dpi) of the completed project but, it must show the items in the applicable category (12” of minimum width and height);

    – 4 to 5 digital photos in low (72 dpi) of the completed project but, it must show the items in the applicable category (12” of minimum width and height);

  • The following categories are exclusively reserved to the jury
    The jury, gathering of experts in interior design, architecture, industrial design or communications (advertising or graphic design) will choose winners for the following prizes:

    NEW-TALENT AWARD
    STUDENT AWARD
    PROJECT OF THE YEAR
    TRIBUTE AWARD


Property Rights

All documents submitted are the property of the award organizers and will not be returned. Competition organizers assume no responsibility towards participants for the loss, disappearance or destruction of documents in the application, or for documents submitted late.

The registration form must be completed online before October 19th, 2017 11:59PM, and it will be closed after this date. The digital files should be deposited before October 27th 2017 11:59PM.

Processing Fees

$155 CAD for the first application (taxes not included).

$125 CAD for any additional submission (taxes not included).

You can choose one of the special awards category 13.1 to 13.6 for an amount of $40, if you have already submit in at least one of these category 1.1 to 12.1.

Payments must be received no later than October 19th, 2017 at 11:59PM. Applications are not official until full payment is received and a link to DROPBOX will be emailed to drop your digital files.
